I got three price quotes and they are all different?

I recently called three vinyl siding contractors and asked for prices. Only two actually got back with me and the prices are totally different. Now I am confused. How can I tell which price is the best one?

The key to getting price quotes that you can compare apples to apples is to make sure that all the contractors are biding on the exact same work and the exact same products.

If you do not tell a contractor exactly what you want,like premium grade vinyl siding, he will probably use something a little less in order to keep his prices low. Remember the contractor knows you are going to get two or three other quotes and he wants to keep his prices down.

Shop around before you call anyone for a price. Homeowners should compare different styles, types, textures, colors and warranties before calling anyone for a price. When you have this information written down you can go over it with the contractors. More importantly the contractor gets a better idea of what you are really looking for. Happy Remodeling
